About FRP arches

An arch is one of the hardest shapes to build well on site: the curve has to be true and both sides have to match. In FRP the arch is moulded in one piece or a few segments, so the curve comes out exactly as drawn.

We make arch surrounds with keystones, imposts and jambs for doors and windows, freestanding arches for gates and gardens, and pointed and cusped arches for temples and mandaps.

Applications for FRP arches

  • Doors and windows

Arched surrounds and window heads on new and old elevations.

  • Gates and compound walls

Entrance arches over gates and driveways.

  • Temples and mandaps

Pointed and cusped arches for shrines, corridors and wedding mandaps.

  • Interiors

Archways between rooms, niches and prayer-room frames.

  • Gardens

Freestanding arches and pergola fronts in landscapes.

How it's made and fitted

Made in our unit at Jakkur, Bangalore, and fitted by our own team.

  1. Opening sizes

Send the width and height of each opening, or we measure on site.

  2. Setting out

We draw the curve full size so it can be checked against the opening before moulding.

  3. Mould and lay-up

The arch is moulded in one piece or in matching segments.

  4. Fixing

The arch is anchored round the opening and the joints are filled and finished.

Questions about FRP arches

More answers on our FAQs page.

Can an FRP arch support the wall above?

No. FRP arches are decorative surrounds. Openings need a lintel or a structural arch in RCC or masonry; the FRP arch dresses it.

Can you match an arch from a photograph?

Yes. Send a photograph with the width and height of the opening and we'll draw the profile for you to check.

How are large arches transported?

Large arches are moulded in segments that fit on a vehicle and are joined on site, where the joints are filled and finished.
