About FRP capitals

The capital is the most detailed part of a column, and the part people look at. FRP takes its detail from the mould, so volutes, leaves and petals come out sharp and every capital in a row is the same.

We make capitals for FRP columns and for existing RCC columns. The capital is moulded as a shell, closed round the column head and finished.

Applications for FRP capitals

Capitals for classical columns at entrances and in banquet halls.

  • Temples

  • Interiors

  • Gate pillars

  2. Master

A master is carved or modelled at full size and checked with you.

  3. Mould and lay-up

Questions about FRP capitals

More answers on our FAQs page.

Can capitals be fitted to existing columns?

Yes. The capital is made in halves that close round the top of the column and are fixed and finished.

Can you make a capital to our own design?

Yes. A master is carved or modelled to your design, a mould is taken from it, and the capitals are moulded from that mould.

Do capitals come with columns?

They can. We make full columns with base, shaft and capital, or capitals on their own for columns you already have.
